Danish Østre Landkommando
A territorial command tasked with defending not Copenhagen, this
Hjemmeværnet-composed battlegroup fields everything from
CENTURION Mk.5/1 battle tanks to
MD JUPITER heavy trucks, Home Guard infantry, and even World War II-vintage
M10 ACHILLES tank destroyers.
West German 6. Panzergrenadier-Division
This oversized mechanized Bundeswehr division was tasked with defending the West German approaches to Denmark in Schleswig-Holstein. It features a unique mix of armaments such as the older
LEOPARD 1A1A2,
DO-28D-2 recon plane, and
Bundesmarine troops, including
KAMPFSCHWIMMER and
STRANDMEISTER naval infantry.
Soviet 336-ya Odtelniy Gvardeyskaya Brigada Morskoy Pekhoty
The Soviet Naval Infantry, while relatively small within the Soviet Army, were well-trained and highly motivated. The division can count on the “Black Death”
MORSKAYA PEKHOTA naval infantry, backed by unique materiel such as the
2S9-1 SVIRISTELKA 120mm assault gun,
Tu-22 in a carpet bomber role,
Ka-29 helicopters, as well as specialized
T-55AMD main battle tank.
Soviet 94-ya Gvardeyskaya Motostrelkovaya Diviziya
Acting as the vanguard in the communist invasion of Jutland, this tank-heavy infantry division can count on older-generation
T-64 Obr. 81, to
IRM JOUK amphibious recon, and
UR-67 mine-clearing vehicles.
East German 20. Motorisierte-Schützen-Division
Attacking toward Hamburg, the East German mechanized formation would cover the left flank of any Warsaw Pact attack on Denmark. Relying heavily on reservists, specialized units include the
LO-1800 ZPU-2 light SPAAG, the iconic
TRABANT cars, and the attached Soviet
T-64AV.
15. Dywizja Zmechanizowana
Forming part of a follow-up assault wave, the second-echelon Polish mechanized division counts on a majority of
REZERWISCI infantry backed by
FORMOZA recon special forces,
SU-7BKL ground attack planes, the
T-55U and
R-330T TARAN SINGIT vehicles.
