The Bornfire — idle bottomscreen game set in a dark fantasy world inspired by Celtic mythology.
A bonfire is burning on your screen as you perform your daily tasks, turning your taps and clicks into Imbas and Grios — two kinds of resources you can use to unlock fragments of lore, new characters, and artifacts of the world of Tirvalen. Each fragment is part of a larger story about a world that has lost its memory.

In Tirvalen, everything exists because it’s being told about. The land, the people, the spirits — they are Seankhas, a narrated reality. When a story stops being told, it fades. When it’s forgotten completely, it vanishes as if it never existed. The bonfire remembers all that was destroyed. And now it tells the world anew to those willing to listen.

From the flames emerge those the world has forgotten. They sit beside you and speak, if you are there to listen. Each character has two sides of their memory. The light side, unlocked with Imbas, holds what they wish to preserve. The dark side, unlocked with Grios, holds what they'd rather forget. Which memories to uncover? That is for you to decide. Each story revealed brings new characters to the bonfire.

Everything that happens by the bonfire is a ritual. Offerings at the altar determine who will emerge from the flames, how the weather will change, and what sounds will fill the silence. Some items unlock the path to new characters. Others change the balance of the game. Experiment! The results may surprise you.

The crackling of the fire, the sound of the wind, the rustle of the rain. Ambient music and ASMR soundscapes, living on your desktop as a background for work, study, or silence. All music is stream-safe.
The Bornfire is a world you want to stay in. A melancholy in which hope flickers.
