Weather the Tide is a roguelike deckbuilding survival game where time is against you in a flooding world. Only by exploring the wrecks and ruins of what came before, using every scrap available, and charting a new path with the stars, can you hope to rise above the unforgiving seas that threaten to swallow you, your people, and your ramshackle tower.
The world you once knew is gone. Can you weather the tides?
Use every scrap available to raise your community above the rising waters and ensure their survival. You will manage access to shelter, food and medicine, and raise your people’s morale by constructing new additions to your tower. Every turn brings new cards to be played: new buildings and supplies, expeditions into unknown waters, random events, and more. Your own charting of the stars can help provide just what you need, but every drawn card can also sow chaos into your well-laid plans.
Protect your vulnerable populace, because you cannot be a community of one.
A drop of water can bring life, but a torrent of it can destroy and consume just as easily. Build your tower quickly, as the rising waters cannot be bargained or bought. A dynamic weather system can bring calm waters or a raging storm to your doorstep, and it is crucial to plan ahead as best you can. Every turn could be your last, but fear not, as your discoveries carry forward into future endeavours.
While the weather can bring ruin, it also brings potential. There is hope on the horizon if you have the grit to see it.
The old world is dead, buried under an ever-rising ocean. The stars above, though? Even now, they can provide guidance on the open seas. By charting a new path through the stars, you will unlock new cards that will aid your survival. Expand into trading with other survivors, research new medicines, fortify your tower, and find new methods (and places) to scavenge and explore. With enough time and investment, these discoveries can completely change how you survive, and eventually, thrive.
Weather The Tide is inspired by many roguelike deckbuilders that came before us, but the game is defined by our differences. With a focus on community growth, the scarcity of shared resources, the mystery of the flood, and the new world on the horizon, we hope that players will have the grit to do what it takes to survive and believe that humanity can begin again.
