Most of these tracks were made in a matter of minutes.
For example, "cheaphell", I stayed up all night so excited to be releasing my FIRST game online, and I forgot to make a track for hell. at 11:55AM when promised to release at noon, I threw a blanket over my head so the people in my house wouldn't hear my voice, I did some humming and bellowing and added lots of reverb and called it a day (using Audacity). Not a minute to spare, I re-exported the build with the track plugged in and it made the cut.
Other tracks, like "tutorial" and "oldhell", were just lying around. I made them in prior months, usually just had a weird earworm or was messing with my MIDI keyboard, and cranked em out. I thought tutorial sounded like Ween.
The main theme however, I brainstormed for weeks, recorded for days, consulted my musician friend Aidan Clarke for an afternoon, until I realized it just wasn't working. I also think I may have forgotten to save the project I left open for days in FL Studio and...... had to remake it. A 15 second loop with one slamming bass note, blast beat, and then a dissonant electric guitar right outta the heart of I (Meshuggah). I thought it was funny, so I kept it.
Thanks for supporting me. I am looking forward to realizing my slightly more pointed vision for the soundscape and world of Santa Smoke. Please check out my other games, they say more about me and my world. That's where the world of Santa Smoke comes from, so if you like it, there's more :)
