Power structures can fall apart. So can people.
Dissolution of My Self is a single-player narrative exploration / point-and-click interaction / psychological horror storytelling game.
The story begins after the collapse of a fictional nation. Hector, a blood descendant of the old royal family, is taken to a foreign land by Matvey — his adjutant, blood relative, and caretaker — where they hide away in a cramped rented apartment.
Limited by disability, identity, and a language barrier, Hector is almost entirely confined to this enclosed space. The television plays programs he cannot understand. Outside the window lies a daily life he can never truly reach. Meanwhile, Matvey occupies multiple roles at once: caretaker, adjutant, relative, and servant.
Entangled in care, loyalty, blood, and power, Hector’s cruelty and Matvey’s endurance gradually form a distorted cycle from which neither can escape. After a series of events, Hector begins to give up maintaining his sense of self.
By interacting with windows, furniture, and everyday objects, you will trigger fragmented memories from Hector’s past — and witness those memories gradually peel away.
