"All life once belonged to Adam, and all life must return to Adam. They who persist in spirit,
clutching at their sense of self, become an affront to nature; ghosts shall not exist."
― Conjunction 10:21-22
You are Alicia Casiel, a priestess with exorcist powers from the Adamic order of Saint Libero. You were hired by a real estate company to exorcise the apartment building in Charon 11, Almagna. A haunted, abandoned complex famous for its grotesque ghost sightings and the struggles of those who once lived there.
For such an ordeal you wield a tympanum, a type of tambourine designed for ritual practice. You're able to play it in such a way so as to reveal the ghostly objects around you. Materialize the unseen, hidden from your sight to impede your investigation.
Dissolve the immaterial, the objects that were not there in the first place. But keep in mind that they won't stand still. The ghosts will place obstacles in new and inconvenient ways before each attempt. The building will change procedurally to always catch you off-guard.
And it's not just obstacles that you'll find. The ghosts are sly and aggressive. They'll hide in the most unassuming of places and trick you into revealing them, becoming a tangible threat to your psyche. Thankfully, you're also prepared for that.
Parry, shake and torment the spirits stalking you. Keep them in line while you search for mementos, relics of past inhabitants, that will allow you to exorcize them entirely. But do it quickly; the employer is in a hurry, and won't tolerate any delays. Your job is on the line.
