Souls Divided is a puzzle game about perception, duality, and control. You play as a Dreamer who enters the astral realm of Namuru, a mysterious world shaped by two opposing forces: Order and Chaos.
To progress, you must split your soul and control multiple forms at once.
Control a physical body anchored to two ethereal forms, one aligned with Order, the other with Chaos. Each form experiences the world differently:
Platforms may exist in one realm but not the other
Paths shift depending on your perspective
Obstacles can disappear or appear when you switch forms
Mastering these overlapping realities is the key to solving each puzzle.
As you progress, new mechanics are introduced and combined in increasingly complex ways:
Observers: Being seen forces your astral form back. Use line-of-sight to your advantage
Astral Platforms: Some objects on the realms interact with this platforms to open new paths.
Astral Mirrors: A linked mirror pair that extend your gaze to another space. Anything seen through the mirrors change their state.
Floating Crystals: Tools that change the state of objects can activate or deactivate this crystals. Change their state to control platforms, shift obstacles,
Dual Wormholes: Push and pull objects across space
Limbo Dome: Shift objects between realms to solve layered puzzles
And much more... Each mechanic builds on the last, creating deeper and more challenging interactions.
Your forms are connected by a tether not just as a limitation, but as a core mechanic:
Pass the tether through objects to activate or alter them
Trigger mechanisms, open paths, and break barriers
Manage its position carefully some things sever the tether on contact
Understanding how to use the tether creatively is essential.
Solve puzzles across three overlapping realms; Physical, Order, and Chaos
Control multiple forms with unique perspectives of the same space
Use a tether-based interaction system to manipulate the environment
Experiment with observation-based mechanics where being seen has consequences
Experience progressively complex puzzles that reward logic and precision
Explore a subtle, mysterious world inspired by original cosmology drawing from Gnostic philosophy and Zoroastrian dualism not good vs. evil, but the tension between structure and change
