Tianji: Reforging Tang is a 2D side-view deckbuilding rogue-like set in an alternate late Tang Dynasty. You play as a modern science student thrown into the chaos of the Five Dynasties era, using forgotten scientific knowledge to rebuild a new path through history.
Combat is turn-based and card-driven. Build your command deck with Basic Cards, Knowledge Cards, and Derivative Cards, then manage energy, armor, health, status effects, and awakening resources in battle. Different schools of knowledge create different strategies: Physics focuses on force, impact, armor breaking, and burst damage, while Chemistry revolves around burn, poison, reactions, and damage over time.
Enemies are designed around more than simple fixed patterns. Some enemies use passive wheels and hidden intent systems, shifting between normal actions, dangerous attacks, and special mechanics. You can read their intent with the True Eye system, prepare for incoming threats, break their armor, or rush them down before their strongest actions trigger.
During each run, you will explore map nodes, fight different enemy types, encounter events, adjust your deck, and refine your strategy through repeated attempts. The game is planned to include Physics and Chemistry as the main schools, with both beginner-friendly and advanced deckbuilding options.
Tianji: Reforging Tang combines late Tang historical fantasy, modern science concepts, and tactical card combat, focusing on deck construction, enemy pattern reading, armor-breaking tempo, and varied builds across multiple scientific schools.
