Midtvinter is a hardcore single player PvE survival game set in post apocalyptic Norway. Survive, loot, prepare, and push north through dangerous territories where every journey can end in disaster.
The further north you travel, the harsher the world becomes. Scarce supplies, freezing temperatures, dangerous wildlife, and permanent consequences turn every decision into a risk.

Nidaros
Your journey begins in a small abandoned village where the climate is still manageable and supplies can still be found. Search homes, cabins, and ruined buildings for food, drinks, medicine, and equipment before continuing north.
Resources are limited, and preparation is essential for survival.
The Bridge
The bridge marks the beginning of the real journey.
Years of abandonment have left the crossing unstable and dangerous. Automated defenses, hidden mines, and environmental hazards make reaching the other side a serious challenge.
Crossing safely requires planning, timing, and caution.
The North
Beyond the bridge lies the frozen north.
The environment becomes colder, harsher, and far more dangerous. Valuable loot can still be found in abandoned settlements, industrial areas, and remote locations, but surviving long enough to bring it back is never guaranteed.
Wolves roam the wilderness in packs, bears can attack without warning, and the freezing climate itself can kill the unprepared.
Every expedition north is a balance between risk and reward.
Scavenge
Search abandoned houses, vehicles, industrial sites, and forgotten containers for supplies that can keep you alive another day.
Loot System
Loot is randomized in every playthrough, including the placement of certain loot containers and rare items. No journey is ever exactly the same.
You can discover food, medical supplies, tools, weapons, clothing, fuel, and other survival essentials scattered throughout the world.
Inventory Management
Loot and equipment are managed through a tetris style inventory system featuring dynamic item icons, item stacking, quick actions, and item combinations designed to make looting a seamless part of the survival experience.
Line of Sight
The isometric perspective gives you a broad overview of your surroundings, but enemies and wildlife are only visible when they enter your line of sight.
Wildlife
The wilderness is filled with animals that can either keep you alive or end your journey.
Hunt deer for meat and supplies, but stay alert around predators. Wolves can stalk you through forests, and bears are capable of killing unprepared survivors in seconds.
The Cold
As you travel north, temperatures continue to drop. Managing warmth becomes just as important as finding food or supplies.
Long journeys without proper clothing or preparation can quickly become fatal.
Travel
The world is built around map to map progression where each new area introduces different threats, environments, and opportunities.
Safe places become increasingly rare the further north you go.
Sandbox Survival
Midtvinter does not force a specific playstyle.
You can move carefully and avoid unnecessary danger, focus on scavenging and hunting, or take greater risks in search of valuable loot and supplies.
Every journey creates its own story, and survival depends entirely on the choices you make.
