Stan the Dumpling popped out of the pot as the result of a distracted chef's botched dinner. As the saying goes, "The dumpling jumped out of the pot." What's more, it came to life, and since the chef had urgent business in town (perhaps to buy an important ingredient), our hero had the opportunity to escape from this extremely hot situation. But it's not that simple. The house is full of surprises and dangers, and our hero's energy is running low...

Step into Stan's shoes and help him escape from the chef's house before he arrives!
Stan the Dumpling is a retro arcade game inspired by the genre of the '80s and the graphic style of the early '90s. It takes place in a house divided into rooms, which our hero—Stan—must navigate to succeed. To overcome obstacles, he must pick up and combine various objects, or place them in specific locations. Enemies won’t harm him, but his energy depletes, and he can only replenish it to a limited extent.

If his energy runs out completely, Stan’s journey ends, but he can try again next time with a new strategy. Controls are handled via the QAOP keys or, alternatively, the WASD keys, but you’ll also need to use several other keys (see the F1 key during gameplay).

There’s no need to rush—this is a laid-back, primarily logic-based game that’s sure to become a favorite for many thanks to its pixelated cartoon style. And if there’s enough interest, a more substantial sequel might even be on the horizon...
About the authors and the origins of the game: The idea first popped into the heads of the author brothers decades ago (Roland was responsible for coding, while Zoltán handled graphics and puzzles), who began developing it first for the Sinclair ZX Spectrum and then for early VGA PCs, but the work was always left unfinished for various reasons. It wasn’t until 2025 that it was finally completed, first as a JavaScript web version, and then in early 2026 as the current PC version.
Have fun!
