Gameplay
BITROT is an incremental arcade game where every run starts with one simple goal: collect falling digits and build power as fast as possible.
Move your cursor across the screen, catch numbers, and fill the Boss Access Protocol before the round timer ends. Each digit adds points, but some numbers do more than just increase your score. Certain digits trigger special effects like BONUS, LIGHTNING, SPEED chains, and destructive combos that can change the flow of a round.
The game is built around short, fast rounds where your upgrades slowly turn simple digit collecting into screen-clearing chaos.
Boss Fights
When the Boss Access Protocol fills, the system opens a corrupted boss gate.
Boss fights turn your collected power into a control objective: fill the boss bar before time runs out. But the system fights back. Bosses can spawn corrupted mechanics like negative numbers, rotating lasers, pressure timers, and other hazards that interrupt your progress and punish mistakes.
The randomness is there to pressure you, not to replace progression. Your real strength comes from how much power you have built before entering the fight.
Upgrading System
Between attempts, your main progression comes from upgrades and resets.
Regular upgrade trees improve how you collect points, trigger digit abilities, extend combo potential, and make each round more efficient.
After defeating or losing to bosses, you can reset your run to gain permanent upgrades. These upgrades survive future resets, unlock stronger progression paths, and eventually open access to harder bosses.
Every reset brings you closer to breaking the system completely.
