Welcome to Whisperthorn — a forest where the moon talks back, the mushrooms gossip, and your best friend just turned the cauldron sentient (again).
You're a witch. So are your friends. Up to twelve of you share one Whispering Wood, casting elemental spells, brewing wildly unstable potions, befriending the creatures hiding in the underbrush, and slowly, gently, healing a forest that's been touched by something it shouldn't have been.
Five elements. Twenty-five spells. Friends fly everywhere.
Queue Flame, Frost, Verdant, Storm, and Spirit in any order. Five mono-elemental casts, twenty fusions — each combination its own behaviour: piercing thorns, bouncing sparks, splitting bolts, lingering vines, homing wisps, phasing ghosts. Mastery deepens as you cast. Friendly fire is always on. Mind your friends. Or don't.
Brew chaos in physics-based cauldrons
Light the fire. Throw in moonpetals, dewdrops, the spore silk you scrounged off something on the way in. Stir clockwise. Stir counter-clockwise. Stir while three of you stir at once and the brew becomes... something else. Recipes are guidelines. Explosions are inevitable. The Mysterious Goop is canon.
The Blight is corruption, not evil
The forest creatures aren't your enemies — they're sick. Defeat one and you don't kill it; you purify it, and the corrupted thing reverts to a friendly forest companion who'd rather follow you home than fight you. Up to three can bond with you at a time. Each one teaches you something.
A forest that breathes
- Procedural seasons rotate across 28 days each.
- An eight-phase moon waxes and wanes — and rare eclipses bring out the bolder Blight.
- Pollen drifts at noon. Fireflies wake at dusk. Grass bends as you run through it.
- Six biomes, six Blight Hearts to find and cleanse.
Make a home
Build a witch's hut. Expand it across seven tiers — a brewery wing, a rooftop greenhouse, a cellar to age potions in, a creature den with soft beds for the friends who come back at night. Decorate it with hats. (Hats are very important.)
Multiplayer, the cozy-chaos way
Up to twelve witches via Steam. Drop in, drop out. Voice chat carries by proximity. Trade ingredients, share recipes, accidentally dunk your friend's hat into the cauldron, watch what happens.
The vibe
A cozy game where the comedy engine is friendly fire and the heart engine is a forest that wants to get better. Bring three friends, bring eleven, bring nobody — Whisperthorn waits either way.
