A Relaxing Nature Experience? Yeah, Right.
Did you always think ice fishing was just sitting quietly in the freezing cold with a thermos? My Fishing Cottage throws that delusion straight down the ice hole. Out here, ice fishing is a competitive sport, a fight for survival, and pure business.
You start your career with nothing but a dull auger, a wooden fishing rod, and a hole in your wool socks. Your goal is simple: trick the fish, sell them at the local market. Soon enough, you'll be upgrading your gear to high-end carbon fiber rods, motorized ice augers, and brand-new snowmobiles to zoom across the world.
Your main source of income is the lake. In the summer, sit on the dock with a basic hook and line or cast a lure. When the harsh winter hits and the lake freezes solid, grab your ice auger and drill a hole for some traditional Finnish ice fishing. The seasons change your methods, but the goal is always the same, catch fish and make rent.
Time actually matters here. The year is divided into two seasons: summer and winter. The game calendar features real holidays and each event brings new activities and surprises to the gameplay. Hunt for Easter eggs, deal with Halloween and enjoy the special rewards of a traditional Finnish Midsummer.
Think you are the best angler in the village? Prove it. Enter local fishing competitions and go head to head with the other rugged fishermen. You will need skill and a bit of luck to catch the absolute biggest fish, claim the title of Top Fisherman. The locals take these contests seriously, so bring your best gear.
You aren't alone on the ice. Other fishermen are hunting for the best spots too, and they aren't afraid to play dirty. See your neighbor Esko pulling up the fish of a lifetime? You can stroll over, deliver a crisp right hook, and run off with his prized catch! But remember, karma (and Esko) strikes back. You might find yourself ambushed right when the fish are biting best. Defend your fish bucket with your fists and make sure you are the undisputed king of the lake.
Head down to the village pub to gamble your hard earned money or drink a few beers. A nice buzz actually gives you a Fishing Luck buff, but drink too much and things go south fast.
Fishing not bringing in enough cash? Grab your rifle and head into the woods to hunt deer. But keep your head on a swivel. The forest is crawling with dangerous wolves. If you are not paying attention, the hunter will quickly become the hunted.
