Defense Of Legends is a strategy-based tower defense game where you must prevent enemy units from emerging from green portals and reaching the red portal. To stop these units, place characters, upgrade them, acquire suitable items, and complete the stages.
Melee units that generally deal physical damage. They have strong defenses.
Ranged units that deal magical damage.
Units with the longest attack range that deal physical damage.
A character that deals physical damage while also healing and strengthening allied units.
These main characters can be upgraded:
The Warrior can become a more defensive unit or, depending on your choices, a more offensive one.
The Mage can specialize in Fire, Ice, or Lightning damage.
The Archer can gain bonus damage based on range and shoot additional arrows.
The Priest can become more defensive or provide stronger healing.
Characters can be unlocked as you continue playing the game.
Characters can attack two types of enemies:
Units that walk along the platform. Most characters can attack them.
Units that fly at a certain height above the platform. Only a few characters can attack them.
You can see which enemy types a character can attack in the character selection and upgrade screens.
You can customize how characters choose their targets.
For example, a character can be set to attack only ground units and prioritize the farthest enemy with the lowest health. These settings can be changed during gameplay.
Each character requires unique items.
There are currently five item tiers. High-tier items are created from lower-tier items and possess their own unique effects.
You can purchase lower-tier items during a match and combine them into stronger items while defending your portal.
To equip items during gameplay, you must first own them. Items can be obtained by playing the game.
While playing, a selection screen with three cards appears after completing each level.
You can choose one of these traits to modify your strategy. Pick the one you believe will make the greatest impact.
You can improve your characters’ stats up to certain levels.

Enemies generally have strengths and weaknesses against different damage types.
For example:
Some enemies take increased physical damage.
Others take increased fire damage.
Some enemies also have special abilities.
Examples:
Health regeneration.
Taking very little damage from ranged units.
Defeating enemies grants gold, which can be used to upgrade characters or purchase items you own for them.
You lose the stage if 5 enemies reach the red portal.
If you complete the stage before 5 enemies reach the portal, you earn stars based on how many enemies managed to get through.
