Infiltrate. Adapt. Escape.
The Tracers are taking the System, sector by sector. You're a PSI-class
Runner, the one unit they can't capture. Slip into a sector they hold,
bring its cores online, and take it back before they close in.
Lose the signal, and we send the next. Every run sharpens the one
after it.
Every sector is a new maze, and none of them want you to leave. The Tracers
pour in behind you, the corridors funnel you straight toward them, and there
is no safe speed here. Only the next corner, the next gap, the next breath.
Outmaneuver. Outrun. Outwit. Hit the exit before they fold in around you.
Four abilities, and every one is a moment you'll chase all run long. The
second a sector turns on you, you turn it back.
Surge: Blast forward in an instant and shred anything in your path.
Firewall: Raise a barrier and let the Tracers break themselves against it.
Lag Spike: Freeze the entire grid, then stroll through and shatter them.
Trap Mine: Seed the corridors and watch the swarm tear itself apart.
Scouts catch your scent. Hunters lock on the second you're flagged.
Interceptors are already at the corner you were running for. Stalkers never
stop, and the things waiting deeper in the System are worse.
Six kinds of hunter, six ways to die. Learn them, or get cornered by them.
No two runs build the same Runner. A dash that resets every time you kill.
A module that flips a near-death into a kill streak. The pieces start to
click, the multiplier climbs, and the run you were barely surviving turns
into one you're carving apart.
Then there are the corrupted modules: stronger than anything else in the
System, and just as ready to turn on you. Take them anyway.
Every Tracer in the maze was one of us, once. Taken, rewritten, and turned
loose to hunt what's left of us. The names are gone, but the way they move
is the same, and that is the worst of it.
We are almost out of time, and you are the last plan we have.

ETCH is the first chapter. The war does not end. It only iterates.
