Squoids is a game of momentum and endurance. Grow your swarm as you dynamically avoid the waves of enemies. Upgrade your swarm to fight back and ensure individuals survive longer. Every enemy defeated earning you the power to mix up the environment. Letting you tweak what is common to better suit your play strategy.
Squoids swim naturally in a swarm that follows your cursor's lead. Loop, lash, and launch as you outmaneuver enemies of a variety of speeds and movement types. The nature of the swarmed movement requiring shifting techniques as the number of squoids grow.
As you swim and explore your surroundings, you may come across bubbling pearls. These will let you select an upgrade for your squoids which can power them up and increase their value. Other than attacks, upgrades can also do things such as increase health or make squoids spawn quicker, making survival much easier. With three main paths that branch, each run you can select two allowing unique fusions geared toward how you like to play. As you upgrade, you'll also find that your swarm changes visually, representing the progress and choices you've made.
In between runs, you can used earned currency to shift factors of the environment. This will change how your runs go as your mix things up, hopefully letting you find the balance that works best for you. Squoids is focused on convenience and runs whenever you want. You'll keep what you earned in a run no matter if you pause and quit, lose, or win. Game too slow? On the menu you can activate a 2x mode that will speed up gameplay to something much more fast paced. Want to start all over? A trashcan button will reset your data after 3 rapid presses, letting you start anew. In Squoids, pressure should only come from challenging gameplay, not external factors.
