Black Hollow

Black Hollow is a dark fantasy roguelite FPS where you play as a lone plague doctor defending a remote farmstead from waves of plague-stricken villagers. Fight through the night with your staff, lantern, and unstable plague mixtures, then use the remains of the infected to unlock new attacks, potions, and upgrades at an ancient runestone.

The town of Black Hollow has fallen to the Hollow Plague, a strange sickness that twists its victims into violent, rabid, demon-like creatures. As the last plague doctor still searching for a cure, you have retreated to an abandoned farmstead to continue your research. Each night, the infected come through the fields. Each corpse leaves behind plague ichor, organs, and corrupted materials that may bring you closer to understanding the sickness.

Survive the Night

Defend your farmstead from waves of infected peasants, rabid villagers, bloated plague victims, corrupted healers, armored guards, and stronger boss-like threats. Every night becomes more dangerous as the plague sends more of Black Hollow’s dead toward your refuge.

Fight Like a Plague Doctor

Use a crooked staff, alchemical lantern, thrown potions, plague vials, and experimental remedies to survive. Your weapons are not heroic tools of war. They are medical instruments, failed cures, and dangerous plague research turned against the infected.

Harvest Plague Ichor

Enemies drop plague ichor, a glowing green-black residue left behind by the infected. Collect it during combat and use it as the main resource for research, upgrades, and new abilities.

Attune Your Research at the Runestone

Outside the farmstead stands an ancient runestone carved with glowing plague runes. By offering plague ichor and infected materials, you can unlock new staff attacks, improve your lantern, strengthen your potions, and turn forbidden research into weapons.

A Dark Low-Fantasy World

Black Hollow is not a world of grand magic and shining heroes. It is a grim medieval plague setting filled with fog, rot, failed medicine, corrupted villagers, and desperate survival. The plague behaves like a disease, but something older and stranger moves beneath it.
